Kitty-Boo... Where do I even begin. Kitty was the result of a frozen semen breeding done by Renette Berggren and Kathy Heider, and Renette and I co-owned Kitty.
Kitty taught me so much. She was everything an Irish Setter should be, smart, clever, resilient, clownish, intense, demanding, naughty! Kitty came to live with me for a change of pace as a young dog, and I ended up keeping her. While I was deployed, she spent time with Ben Garcia of Hideaway Kennels in Colorado where she got a formal introduction to the gun dog world. She enjoyed showing but above all, she lived to have a job. Kitty was as intense of a dog as I could have ever asked for, and she thrived when she had something to do.
Enthusiastic was her middle name while outdoors, and resting at my feet was where she prefers to be when in the house. She became an excellent hunting dog, with a moderate gun dog range. I couldn't have asked for a better dog to steal my heart. She was my source of strength in some incredibly trying times, and without her, I wouldn't be where I am today.
I am thankful for everything Kitty gave me, including a lovely litter sired by GCH Cairncross Ruairi's Jail House Rock, which resulted in producing my lovely Betty-Boop (CH Cairncross Take That) and Charlie (CH Cairncross Take It To The Limit). Kitty resided with Larry and Sandy Sims of Tulsa, Oklahoma for the last 14 months of her life while I worked in Afghanistan.
I owe Larry and Sandy the world for all they did to give Kitty the best life and the best care in the most challenging of times.
